You are cordially invited to join the Home Builders  Association of Middle Georgia, your voice in the building industry.  We hope this information will clarify the benefits and opportunities that our prestigious organization has to offer.

Annual membership dues are $430.00 and your membership in our local association automatically guarantees your membership in the Home Builders Association of Georgia which is comprised of 13,000 plus members.  The state association has offices located in Atlanta for legislative purposes and their staff includes a full time lobbyist.  In addition, you also become a member of the National Association of Home Builders which includes 275,000 member firms across the U.S. with offices in Washington, D.C. where the staff has access to Congress, the White House, FHA, VA, HUD and the many other governmental offices that impact YOUR industry.

The National Association of Home Builders provides housing data ranging from construction statistics and home sales to economic forecasts and housing market indices.  They have developed an economic impact model based on information supplied by various government agencies including the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.  According to NAHB, 100 single-family homes generate 284 full-time jobs in construction and construction-related industries; $11.4 million in wages and salaries; and $1.8 million in combined federal, state and local tax revenues and fees.  These numbers stress the importance of the building industry.

All three groups - LOCAL, STATE, and NATIONAL - exist for one purpose... to serve the industry through YOU, the member.

HBA membership meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Georgia Power Facility located at 960 Key Street across from Academy Sports.  There are no meetings during the months of July and December due to the holidays.  The meetings begin at 12:00 NOON and lunch is served at no additional charge to the member representative.  Visitors are welcome to attend for a charge of $10.00 per person.

For a fee, you can sponsor a meeting which will allow you the program time to make a full presentation regarding your business.  Another meeting option is our table-top sponsor opportunity which, for a smaller fee, will allow you time for a brief presentation and dissemination of materials that relate to your business.  We do not have meetings in July or December due to the holiday schedule.

There are many event opportunities including the annual HomExpo, our home and garden show, which is held at the Macon Centreplex.  Your membership allows you a discount on booth space at the Expo!  Other major events include our Showcase Home, Parade of Homes, Golf Outing, Legislative Reception, Political Forum, and Annual Auction.   If you need a location for your own business meeting or party, our banquet facility known as The Cupola at Plantation Centre, includes an elegant ballroom and conference room.  As a member, you will receive a special discount on the rental fee for either room.
